Tips for useful accessories
Enhance Your Camping Experience with Our Recommended Accessories. Our WattaBox Y is the perfect foundation for your adventures, whether you're heading to festivals, enjoying extended weekends, or embarking on epic road trips. With the right additions, your setup becomes even more comfortable and versatile. For short trips, an inflatable mattress is often sufficient, offering quick setup and a cozy sleeping space. For longer journeys, we recommend a portable power station to keep your devices running off-grid, a specialized cooler for your Tesla Model Y to keep food fresh, and a car awning for extra space and privacy, especially in the rain. Each accessory is carefully selected to make your trip unforgettable—discover how you can optimize your camping adventure!

Sleeping
A Comfortable, Large Mattress is Essential for Camping
A comfortable, spacious mattress is a must-have for camping. We recommend the Exped MegaMat Auto Air Mattress, as it takes up little space when packed and offers the largest sleeping surface. Alternatively, there are other options, such as the Tesla Model Y Air Mattress available directly from the Tesla Shop.
More Space, even in bad weather
On longer road trips, rain can sometimes be an issue. To keep you dry and provide more privacy, we recommend a car awning, such as the QUECHUA Air Seconds Base Connect Fresh from Decathlon. Tested and highly recommended.
Cooking
Use a gas camping stove or, like us, a suitable induction cooktop, e.g., from Brunner (Camping Wagner) or TOKIT (Amazon). It works quickly, the heat goes exactly where you want it, and you don’t have to deal with gas cartridges.
Important: Only use induction cooktops with continuous, non-pulsed power consumption.

Camping fridge
If you want to keep some food or drinks cool during the summer, we recommend a cooler from Tescamps that fits behind the center console of the Tesla Model Y and can be easily moved elsewhere since it’s not fixed in place. It keeps essentials like milk, butter, eggs, sausage, and cheese cool. Please note: starting with the Spring 2025 update, power supply will once again be available when the car is turned off—great news for all camping enthusiasts!
Alternative: For a small fee, you can rent space in a refrigerator at campsites.
Mobile Powerstation
If you want to operate a cooler or an induction cooktop, you’ll need a portable power station with sufficient power and capacity. We use the Bluetti AC200Max (Otto), but there are many other suitable models, such as the Bluetti AC180 or EcoFlow DELTA 2. For cooking with a suitable induction cooktop, the power station should provide at least a continuous output of 1,500 watts. Here’s a power station test from Heise Verlag.
