During the winter months, we take time to reflect on our camping experiences. Today, we're starting with refrigerators for mobile camping in the Tesla Model Y and comparing the two refrigerators we've used ourselves: the compact Tescamps (HAVNBY, 5l) and the spacious Belko ArcticCore (30l). Both are suitable for road trips and camping, but differ in size and intended use.
Tescamps (HAVNBY Tesla Model Y Fridge)
The Tescamps is specifically designed for the Model Y. It fits seamlessly into the interior, cools down in 15 minutes, and runs while driving. Ideal for basics like milk, sausage, and cheese. With an extension cable, it can also be used outside the Tesla Model Y. Price: approx. €260.

My experiences:
Fast cooling, sleek design integrates perfectly.
Plenty of room for essentials.
Too little for longer trips or multiple drinks.
Poor access when the WattaBox is ready for sleep; not near the kitchen.
ArcticCore (Belko 30l compressor cool box)
The ArcticCore offers ample space for food and drinks, fits snugly inside the Subtrunk and under the WattaBox Y. It features app control without needing to grab it and is easily maneuverable outdoors. It's reasonably priced for its size. Price: €130. Note: the 50L version definitely won't fit inside the Subtrunk (although I haven't tested it myself).
My experiences:
Spacious enough for weekend trips; conveniently located near the kitchen.
App control and portability are excellent.
The appearance is unspectacular (but hidden).
It just barely fits inside Subtrunk, but doesn't perfectly utilize its shape and size.
usable despite built-in WattaBox Y camping box.

Conclusion
I used to use the Tescamps refrigerator when camping, not least because we often ate out while camping and I got the refrigerator for a very good price. While its built-in location is perfectly adequate for everyday use for drinks, it's inconveniently situated when camping with the WattaBox Y set up for sleeping.
While the ArcticCore isn't as aesthetically pleasing as the Tescamps refrigerator and doesn't fit perfectly into the Tesla Model Y's sub-trunk, it offers sensational value for money, plenty of space, and convenient app control. It's also easily accessible below the WattaBox Y. This makes it ideal for extended camping trips and for people who enjoy cooking and relaxing in the evening with a cold beer or a good bottle of white wine.
