Impressions of the Tesla FSD test drive

On December 2, 2025, I had the opportunity to participate in an official Tesla Ride-Along Demo for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) in Munich-Parsdorf – one of the first public ride-alongs in Germany.
The drive took us through Munich suburbs, highways, roundabouts, construction sites, and residential areas. The system drove extremely confidently, safely, and smoothly – neither too slow nor too fast.
Here's a video of my verdict and some drive footage: https://x.com/WattaBoxEu/status/1996142091131289913
Positives that stood out:
Speed limits perfectly recognized and followed (except... see below)
Roundabouts mastered brilliantly
Highway on- and off-ramps flawless
Navigated superbly through construction site in a traffic-calmed zone
Butter-smooth driving and polite behavior in traffic
Dreamlike parking on a busy parking lot
Areas for improvement:
Missed a "No Entry" sign in a poorly visible spot (unfortunately not filmed)
Drove a bit too fast in the traffic-calmed zone (like many humans 😅). I suspect this is a training data issue, similar to STOP signs in the US where no one stops NHTSA-compliant.
One "shoehorn parking" at P&R: yes, the car was parked – but in a way that getting in/out would have been no joy for me as passenger or the driver of the neighboring vehicle.
Overall, I'm very impressed! FSD already feels mature and would make road traffic safer. With small fixes, Tesla could pass the RDW test in February 2026 – and then nothing should stand in the way of approval in NL and later the entire EU. 🚀❤️
What do you think? Have you tried it yet?
